Pastries

Cake

I particularly enjoy making cakes.

I place particular emphasis on great taste and consistency.

As we all know, the eye eats with us and that's why the decoration is also very important to me.

I truely love decorating cakes because they offer a large area to let your imagination run wild.

Cupcakes can also be created in all variations.

Whether chocolatey, fruity, with a sweet filling or even sometimes in a salty direction: they are made quickly and, in my opinion, do not require any distinctive baking skills.

For toppings, I prefer the cream cheese frosting. Very well known is also the buttercream frosting, which is perfect for creating other flavors like "Salted Caramel" or peanut butter.

Here, too, the possibilities seem limitless.

They are always a big hit, especially with children.

Cookies

One of my nicknames is not for nothing: Cookie Monster.

I've been making cookies since I was a kid. For me, there is hardly a better scent than cookie scent in the house.

Certain classics have remained the same over the years, even decades. Certain things simply don't need change.

For others, in turn, I have made the decorations more sophisticated. Especially the royal icing cookies make many people marvel and consume with pleasure.

Cream Puff

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of spritz pastries. But my best friend loves eclairs, profiteroles and cream puffs. And so I make this pastry again and again.

Even if the choux pastry does not appeal to me, I am a big fan of cream fillings and have meanwhile also worked out my own creations. Vanilla is my absolute favorite.

Baklava

I have been to Turkey very often on vacation. There I could never keep my hands off the delicious pastries.

Since I couldn't always travel and I didn't like the baklavas from the big retailers, I started making them myself.

For this I use filo dough, a lot of butter, chopped nuts, honey, rose water (just a touch!) and pistachios.

A patient with a kebab restaurant even wanted me to quit my job and work for him as a baklava producer. This has honored me very much.

If you like it sweet and crunchy, you should reward yourself with a delicious baklava every now and then.

Apple-carrot bread

Unfortunately, I am not yet as experienced in baking bread as I am with making pastries.

If you are not that experienced, but you still want the bread to look nice, I recommend baking in a loaf pan.

The good thing about this apple-carrot bread is that it contains vinegar, which activates the yeast very quickly and so the dough does not need to rest for long.

The apples and carrots make the bread taste fresh, airy and light.

I like to combine it with salty butter.

Epiphany Cake

With sweet yeast dough you can conjure up numerous great things. For example, an Epiphany Cake. The golden brown color in combination with the light hail sugar and almond chips makes it irresistible. Anyway, it is best if it is eaten fresh or in one day.

For those wondering, yes, the kings or other figurines can be purchased.

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Balls

I find energy ballsto be a good alternative when I resolve again not to eat granulated sugar for a few days.

There are numerous options: Cashew-apricot, coconut-cranberry, banana-peanut butter, chocolate-peanut, etc.

You get the sweetness via the fruity component, whether in dried or natural form.

I take them to bouldering or working out, because they are a super and fast energy supplier, are fast in the mouth, easy to digest are no mess or dirty hands make. As soon as I can go on longer walks and hikes again, so they will certainly be my companions there.
